The World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life is Feb. 2. On this day, parishes are invited to highlight the gift of religious life and pray for those discerning a religious vocation: God of all goodness, you have called people to follow you faithfully. Humans have heard that call and many choose to follow your call in varied and faith-filled lives. Some follow your call in private, silent lives as hermits; some choose to follow you with lives lived as virgins and widows; while others choose public lives of vowed men and women as religious brothers and sisters. Abundantly give to these men and women the courage to follow their call as witnesses to your gifts and faith and service to the world. We ask this in faith through the name of Jesus our Savior. Amen.

The Grove City Knights of Columbus Council #3658 is very appreciative of the support we receive from fellow church members and the local community. Without your support, we would be very limited to charity and other projects we can support. Our two largest fund raisers are the Lenten Fish dinners and Strawberry Days Sausage sandwich sales. The proceeds from these two projects allow our council to support many local organizations, projects, and provide maintenance for our buildings and grounds. The GC Knights contribute to our local Meals on Wheels, Beloved Mercy Ministries, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Bibles for Prisoners at the Mercer County Jail, and other charities. We sponsor the Free Throw Contest for 9 to 14-year-old boys and girls. We also mowed grass, trimmed, and cut shrubs at the Rectory and the Old Catholic Cemetery. For the second year in a row, we provided 48 new winter coats to children in need at Christmas time. We have also completed several one-time projects this past year. The Knights cleaned out years of miscellaneous items from the Rectory basement, repaired the down spouts at the Beloved Disciple Knights of Columbus Hall, repaired broken gravestones at the Old Catholic Cemetery, cleaned out and repaired an outside storage building at the K of C Hall. The Grove City Knights of Columbus Council #3658 also marched in the November 9th Grove City Veterans Parade. This was the first Grove City Veterans parade in almost 50 years, and we were eager to participate. To see the look on the faces of our local Veterans made it so worthwhile. Plus, it was a lot of fun! Your local Knights are very active in both our church and our community. A lot of time we are operating under the radar. The purpose of this insert is to provide a little more knowledge of what charity and support the Grove City Knights of Columbus Council #3658 is providing.
