Evening Prayer: Communal Evening Prayer will begin again on Monday September 16, at 7pm. If you are interested in joining other Parish members each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for online prayer, please contact Deacon Owen in the Parish Office at ext. 110. You have to have an email address so a message can be sent on how to connect to the Zoom session. So please call.   If you are already part of our Evening Prayer Community, I already have your email address. Please join us, all are welcome. It generally is only a 20-to-25-minute prayer session.

Lector/Reader Training: Tuesday September 24 at 6:30 PM Training for Lectors/Readers, both experienced and those interested in serving at our Liturgies, is being held in the Church. This a great opportunity to share your faith in our communal worship. If you have any questions, call Deacon Owen in the Parish Office at ext. 110.

Altar Server Training: On Sunday September 29 at 9:30 in the Gathering Space we will begin training for all experienced and those qualified to be Altar Servers. A new altar server must have received their First Communion to qualify. Please contact Deacon Owen in the Parish Office at ext. 110 with questions or concerns. Parents of new Altar Servers are encouraged to attend the first training session.

Parish Book Club Update: Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00 AM in the Parish Library. Next month's selection is "Churchill's Secret Messenger" by Alan Hlad. A WW2 historical fiction about the Special Operations Executive and the role played in defeating the Nazi's. It is at times thrilling and other times very poignant. All are welcome to purchase and join us at the Book Club meeting. Have a question, contact Deacon Owen in the Parish Office at ext. 110.

Socials are back! It’s that time of year and our monthly socials are back. Our September Social is after Masses September 21st and September 22nd. If you aren’t able to attend the meeting  but would like to help, please call Victoria Wagner.

Coming Soon: Fall Fest: Sunday, October 6 Noon—4pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall. We have planned for lots of good food, music, dancing, children’s activities and more….Reservation sheets can be found in the church pews (so we plan accordingly for food). Helpers are needed for set up, serving, clean up and helping with children’s activities.

You've Got Mail! Do you have a son/daughter that is off at school? We would love to send them notes of encouragement and let them know that their church family is thinking of them. Please provide Victoria Wagner with the student's name, email adddress and address by filling out the form in the bulletin and putting it in the collection basket. Receiving a card is always a great surprise!

The Grove City Beloved Disciple Knights of Columbus BIG project again this summer was mowing trimming and sustaining the property at the catholic cemetery that is owned by Beloved Disciple and is located on Gill Road just off Route208 (Barkeyville Road). We also added taking over maintaining the beauty of the Rectory property and also redesigning and cleaning up the picnic area behind the Knights of Columbus Hall. As you drive by the properties or as you are leaving church from the Knights of Columbus parking lot take a look. For more information, please contact Our Grand Knight Ed Hartle at 724-992-2597. We are still maintaining a fund through the Beloved Disciple Church and if you would like to contribute to this for the upkeep and maintaining of the properties (including the soon to be redesigned Beloved Disciple picnic and family area at the back of the parking lot by the storage shed at the KofC.) Please send your check to Beloved Disciple Parish at 1310 South Center Street Ext. Grove City PA 16127 or drop it in the collection Basket. Please make it out to Beloved Disciple Parish and PLEASE MARK ON THE NOTE OF THE CHECK, "Cemetery/

Survivors of Suicide Bereavement Support Group Are you grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide? Held the THIRD Tuesday of the month from 5pm-6pm in the Mercer Area Library, 110 E Venango St, Mercer, PA 16137. You must be at least 18 years old to attend. Facilitators are peers who have been trained to help those with a loss by suicide and want to help others cope with the loss of loved ones. Adult Faith Formation: There are various opportunities to update your Adult Faith Formation this year. Feel free to join in as we keep our Catholic Faith informed. The following is a list of opportunities available to all adults of the Parish:

Old Testament Prophets: Starting Tuesday October 8 at 5:30pm, we will review who the Old Testament Prophets were and how they impact us in our Faith Journey. Dinner is served  at 5:30pm in the Faith Formation building. We start the "Learning" session at 6:00pm via  video, lecture and activities. We will meet two Tuesdays each month throughout the year. A lot of information and good food. Join us and all are welcome.
Adult Catechism: We will meet once a month on Sunday mornings starting October 13 at 9:30am, in the Faith Formation wing, to discuss various sections of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If you have a copy, please bring with you. You pick the topics and we will "break open" the CCC read and discuss. It's great Faith Formation, plus thought provoking. Join us.

Order of Christian Initiation for Adult: All members of the Parish and those interested in learning more about the Catholic Chruch are invited to learn more about the Catholic Church, what we believe and why we believe. We will study the Liturgy, Tradition, Sacraments and other topic of interest for new members and those that would like to refresh their understanding of the Catholic Church.  The first session is Sunday Oct. 6 at 9:30am in the Parish Library. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Deacon Owen in Parish Office at ext. 110.

Little Disciples’ Thank You! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who donated items from Little Disciples' back-to-school needs board. Your generosity makes our school possible! This is our 14th year in operation! May God richly bless each and every one of you. Lorie

The Secular Franciscans’ Holy Spirit Fraternity are collecting items for their annual baby shower in September, for New Beginnings, Slippery Rock. The following items are needed: new fall and/or winter clothes (toddler sizes for boys and girls are especially needed), disposable diapers (esp. sizes 6&7), sippy cups, utensils, plates, gripe water, sensitive skin lotion. There will be a box in the foyer until September 14th.

The Catholic Men's Fellowship of Western PA presents The 16th Gathering of Catholic Men on Saturday, September 21, at the Union Ballroom of Duquesne University, 1000 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15282. The theme of the Gathering is The Eucharist - Source of Our Healing & Hope.
