Evening Prayer: Communal Evening Prayer began again this fall. If you are interested in joining other Parish members each Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7pm for online prayer, please contact Deacon Owen in the Parish Office at ext. 110. You have to have an email address so a message can be sent on how to connect to the Zoom session. So please call. If you are already part of our Evening Prayer Community, I already have your email address. Please join us, all are welcome. It generally is only a 20-to-25-minute prayer session.
There will be no evening prayer sessions this week.
Book Study with Paul Kengor:
Beginning on Sunday, January12th, we will be starting a four-week book study with Dr. Paul Kengor. We will be reading and discussing his newest book entitled The Stigmatists. We will
meet in the church library from 9:15-10:45am for each of the four Sundays. This event is open to everyone, please come and bring a friend! Paul’s book is available through TAN books, EWTN Religious Catalog, and Amazon.
Parish Book Club News: Our next book is The Lonely-Hearts Book Club by Lucy Gilmore. Our next meeting is on Wednesday January 22 at 11am in the Parish Library. Contact Deacon Owen with questions in the Parish Office at ext. 110.
Flower Memorials: The beautiful poinsettias and greenery in our sanctuary are a special part of our Christmas. All flowers are funded through our Flower Memorials. We invite you to be a part of our decor team by making a memorial donation. You can donate online or use an envelope and ear-mark it “Christmas Flower Memorial.” Contributions received by Monday, December 23rd will be included in our special bulletin insert for Christmas Masses.
Christmas Décor Team: You are invited to join the Liturgical Decor team in preparing our space for Christmas. Scheduled times are December at 22nd at 7:00pm and December 23rd from 2:00pm — 4:00pm. Join us as we change fabrics, set out poinsettias, and hang wreaths and ribbons.
Engagement Encounter: Give your loved ones the gift of Engagement Encounter: What better way to show your support of an upcoming marriage than with a gift that lasts a lifetime: Engagement Encounter. The next EE will be held at St. Mark Catholic Center, Erie on January 17-19, 2025. Space is limited and early registrations are encouraged. Adult Faith: Old Testament Prophets: Tuesday, January 7th at 5:30pm, we will review who the Old Testament Prophets were and how they impact us in our Faith Journey. Dinner is served at 5:30pm in the Faith Formation building. We start the "Learning" session at 6pm via video, lecture and activities. We will meet two Tuesday's each month throughout the year. A lot of information and good food. Join us and all are welcome.
Adult Catechism Session: The next session Sunday December 8 at 9:30am in the Parish Library. We will read and discuss the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick and Prayer in the form of Petitions. In these sessions we use the Catechism of the Catholic Church as the "text book" that we read and learn from what the Church teaches. Questions and discussion are encouraged. The session will last about an hour and 15 minutes, plenty of time to attend 11am Mass. Join us. Questions or concerns contact Deacon Owen in the Parish Office at ext. 110.
Order of Christian Initiation for Adult: All members of the Parish and those interested in learning more about the Catholic Chruch are invited to learn more about the Catholic Church, what we believe and why we believe. We will study the Liturgy, Tradition, Sacraments and other topic of interest for new members and those that would like to refresh their understanding of the Catholic Church. The next session is Sunday Dec. 22 at 9:30am in the Parish Library. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Deacon Owen in Parish Office at ext. 110.
