From Bishop Persico:

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Every year, World Mission Sunday reminds us of our shared responsibility to proclaim
 Church.
This year’s theme, “Missionaries of Hthe Gospel to all nations. It is a day when Catholics around the world unite in prayer and solidarity to support the missionary work of theope Among the Peoples,” is particularly moving because, even though it was chosen by Pope Francis, it reflects both the heart of our faith and the vision of our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, who spent most of his priestly ministry as a missionary in Peru.
The example of Pope Leo encourages us to recognize our vital role in sustaining the life and growth of the Church in over 1,124 mission territories across Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania, and parts of Europe and the Middle East. These areas where the Church is young depend on our prayers and financial support.
This year, World Mission Sunday will be observed on the weekend of October 18 and 19, 2025. Our prayer and financial contributions are signs of our communion with the global Church. They support the formation of seminarians, religious sisters, and catechists; the building of chapels, schools, and clinics; and the ongoing evangelization of peoples who may be hearing the Gospel for the first time.
I encourage you to offer your joyful prayer, and financial support, according to your ability, during this year’s celebration of World Mission Sunday. Please know of my gratitude for all that you do.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
+Lawrence T. Persico
The Most Reverend Lawrence T. Persico, JCL Bishop of Erie

St. Monica Prayer Group starting on October 14th...
Saint Monica was the mother of Saint Augustine, known for her unwavering patience, persistent prayers, and deep faith that led to the conversion of her pagan husband, Patricius, and her wayward son, Augustine.  She is the patron saint of mothers and those facing difficulties in family life, especially children who have strayed from their faith. Join us in the Schleigh Library on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 7-8pm to pray for the intercession of St. Monica for our loved ones and also for ourselves.  All are welcome.

Please pray for our deceased parishioners

This retreat fulfills diocesan marriage preparation requirements and offers couples—Catholic and interfaith alike—a chance to deepen their connection before the big day. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Call the Family Life Office at 814-824-1261. “A wedding is one day, but marriage is for a lifetime.”

7th Annual Pittsburgh Catholic Women's Conference Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Seton La Salle High School
Our team is planning a beautiful day filled with prayer and fellowship, wonderful speakers, some good Catholic shopping (woohoo!) and of course opportunities for Confession, Adoration and Mass. We will have Katie McGrady as our keynote speaker as well as many other local women who will be giving their powerful witnesses. The Early Bird rate is only until September 1st. Please feel free to share this information. We would LOVE to see you there!
