Beloved Disciple Parish 100th Anniversary Celebration - To read the story of the parish celebration on the Diocese of Erie website, click here. To view photos on the website, click here.

The celebration of our 100th anniversary continues. This year we teamed up with Wendell
August Forge to offer the Holy Family Christmas ornament. The back is engraved with the
logo that we used at our celebration. Father David wrote a special message that is printed on the insert card and Gannon University sponsored the printing of the cards. The ironic part of this is that Gannon University is also celebrating their hundredth anniversary and it was Bishop Gannon that was petitioned from our Catholic community to become the Church of the Beloved Disciple. God truly works in miraculous ways. We have purchased one hundred and twenty-five ornaments. If we run out, we can place an order, but it has to be in groups of fifty.
In keeping with the celebration of Beloved Disciple’s 100th anniversary, we are inviting our parish families to decorate our Christmas Giving Tree. We would love to have you share an ornament and find a special place for it on our tree. We don’t want you to purchase a new one but share one from your collection. Put your name on the back so we can make sure it is returned to you when our tree is packed up for next year. Thanksgiving weekend tags will be on the tree for children in our community, parish and George Junior Republic. Anytime after November 29th, place an ornament on our tree and brighten up the gathering space.

The Funeral Dinner Ministry Needs Additional Volunteers
The Funeral Dinner Ministry is looking for additional volunteers to assist with the luncheon for the families of the parish. The ministry provides a luncheon for the families during a very difficult time. A delicious luncheon is provided for the family and their guests after the funeral Mass. This ministry is very rewarding as it helps the family during a very difficult time and the families are so appreciative of this ministry our church provides. We are in need of additional volunteers to provide the side dishes, desserts and servers for the luncheon. Many hands make for light work! If you're interested in helping with the funeral dinner min-
istry, please contact Pam Sansotta at 724-372 -3143 (cell) or e-mail dpsansotta@zoominternet.net All are welcome. Thank you.
Ascend Young Adult Ministry - Leadership Team Openings! Ascend, our parish’s young adult ministry, is looking for a few passionate young adults (ages 18–39) to join our leadership team! If you have a heart for building community, deepening faith, and planning meaningful events, we’d love to have you on board. The commitment is just two days a month — one for a leadership meeting to plan together and one for a gathering or event. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 25th, at 7pm in Beloved Disciple's library. There we can decide on a schedule that works best for everyone. Come be part of something uplifting as we help young adults grow closer to Christ and one another through Ascend! For more information or to get involved, please see or text Emily Bucha at 724-510-8392.
St. Monica Prayer Group — December 9
Saint Monica was the mother of Saint Augustine, known for her unwavering patience, persistent prayers, and deep faith that led to the conversion of her pagan husband, Patricius, and her wayward son, Augustine. She is the patron saint of mothers and those facing difficulties in family life, especially children who have strayed from their faith. Join us in the Schleigh Library on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 7-8pm to pray for the intercession of St. Monica for our loved ones and also for ourselves. All are welcome.

Jesse Tree, Explained! The Jesse Tree is an Advent practice which recounts the history of salvation by tracing the lineage of Christ — the foretold “shoot from the stump of Jesse” who will bring peace and unity to the people of God (Isaiah 11:1).
In a way, creating a Jesse tree is the telling of one big story — the redemption of man — through the telling of many smaller stories — the fall of Adam, God’s promise to Abraham, the wandering of the Israelites, the greatness of David and the humble submission of Mary. A Jesse tree is adorned with symbols of these various people and stories, with the earliest ones hung from the topmost branches, progressing downward.
There are different versions of the Jesse Tree featuring different Old Testament figures and stories, but all begin with Adam and end with the birth of Jesus. It is an easy tradition to practice at home — all you need is a tree, paper, markers, scissors, string and a Bible.
Help Needed for Advent Decorating! We’re getting ready to make our space beautiful for the Advent season, and we’d love your help! Join us on Friday, November 28th at 9am to decorate and bring the spirit of the season to life. All ages and skill levels welcome—many hands make light work! We are also seeking a family to coordinate the Nativity setup and take down. If this sounds like a meaningful way to serve, please let us know! For questions or to volunteer, contact Nelsa. “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.” – Mark 1:3

The Grove City Food Pantry is always in need of hygiene products, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap and other such items. The high school is collecting nonperishable items.
